On Thursday, December 6, 2012, the Curb Center at Belmont University will be the scene of a star studded evening in celebration of Fatherhood. Sports Night will kick off the celebration, broadcasting live from 3-7pm at the Curb Center.
At 7:30pm, keynote speaker R.A. Dickey, a Tennessean and one of the winningest pitchers in Major League Baseball, will share his inspiring story in a rare public discussion. Sharing the stage will be Grammy Award winners Vince Gill and CeCe Winans.
Rounding out the evening, Family Foundation Fund graduates, along with partners and surrogate fathers, will bless the audience with testimonials of their respect for the work of The Family Foundation Fund.

We are glad to have the USA National Little League champions with us to celebrate fatherhood.
FEATURED GUESTS

Fourteen years ago, Dickey was a heralded No. 1 draft choice of the Texas Rangers, only to have an $810,000 signing bonus, and his lifelong dream, ripped away by an X- ray-and the discovery that he did not have an ulna collateral ligament in his right elbow. Five years ago, he gave up a record six home runs in three innings to the Detroit Tigers-and was effectively consigned to the baseball scrap heap. Sustained by his profound Christian faith, the love of his wife and children, and a relentless quest for self-awareness and authenticity, he emerged as one of the premier pitchers in the National League in 2010-and the knuckle-balling embodiment of the wonders that perseverance and human wisdom can produce. Dickey views his story as one of redemption, something more-a uniquely American story of beating back demons, listening to your heart, and overcoming extraordinary odds.

If you ask CeCe Winans what drives her, the answer will be far removed from her endless list of accolades, best-selling albums, widespread industry recognition, and vast amounts of press coverage. She'll make no mention of the multiple GRAMMY®, Stellar, and Dove awards she's garnered over the years, let alone the several gold-and platinum-certified albums she's scored. When all is said and done, CeCe's heart lies someplace else: in the very inner court of the heavenly realms, where Christ Himself is enthroned. "When you're in the throne room, your focus is just God," CeCe says. "Nothing's more powerful than that. When you do other music-positive music, gospel, inspirational, whatever you want to name it-you're teaching lessons to other people, which is still very important. But nothing is more powerful than when you're face to face with God."

Vince Gill has sold more than 26 million albums. He has earned 18 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 1993 and 1994. He is tied with George Strait for having won the most CMA Male Vocalist Awards (five), and is currently second only to Brooks and Dunn for accumulating the most CMA Awards in history. Gill is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and has received 20 Grammy Awards to date, the most of any male Country artist. An avid golfer, he helped create the annual Vince Gill Pro-Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament ("The Vinny") in 1993 in order to help support junior golf programs throughout Tennessee. Besides being known for his talent as a performer, musician and songwriter, Gill is regarded as one of Country Music's best known humanitarians, participating in hundreds of charitable events throughout his career.
