Here, There, Everywhere...and Pathetic too

by JoeDubin

So Sunday night, I settle down around 730 to watch the 49ers and Lions
game on TV.  At 731, my son tells me that we have to go to Target
because I had promised him earlier, apparently.  I don't recall that
but anyhoo, we go.  Then, I am in a serious quandary.  What about the
game?  What can I do?  How can I find out who got 3 yards and who
dropped a pass?  Ahh, social media, there you are.

I had totally forgotten that I had the NFL Mobile app on my phone.
That app allows me to watch Sunday Night Football just about anywhere.
Plus, with Twitter and Facebook, I had instant updates, although not
video, but still, instant updates.

I get to Target and immediately turn my phone on, find the game and
heaven can continue.  I am switching back and forth on twitter to see
what everyone is saying about the game and then watching the real time
action.  Man, it was utopia inside the Donelson Target store.  I had
it made.  Left home but still had everything I needed right on my
phone.  It was here and there and everywhere.  So awesome right?
Wrong.

Here is where the pathetic part comes in.  I am standing inside the
store, watching an NFL game.  On my phone.  While my son toils through
the toy aisle, daddy is watching the game.  I couldn't even turn the
game off for a quick trip to the store.  I am usually the first one
who jumps on someone for doing just that.  I turned it off and you
know what, didn't miss a single thing.  Not one thing.

So for my son, I am sorry.  Just please, please, please, don't ask to
go to Target during the Super Bowl.
