The Holidays

by BradHopkins

Well it's almost over...another season of last second gift purchases, egg nog, Christmas carols, and of course family.

Does the story about Aunt Sarah losing control of the "carwash wand" and it giving her a black-eye ever get old?!

How about the time Grandpa thought the horseradish was potato salad?  Never knew he could move that fast!

What about Cousin Alan's new girlfriend Paula who turned out to be a Paul instead?  She had  broader shoulders than him!

Who stays up for the 24 hour marathon of Christmas movies?  From "Home Alone" to "A Christmas Story," "It's A Wonderful Life" to "Friday After Next"... yeah that's right "Friday After Next" is common viewing at my house during the holidays!

The NBA's Christmas Day schedule did not disappoint this year.  Nor did the early slate of bowl games and non-conference college hoop action.  Yeah it's almost over...beginning yet another countdown to next year's holiday match-ups and vicious games of spades.

As we head directly for the new year, let us remember the absolute craziness we venture through every year at this time.  Long return lines, people who couldn't fit a bicycle between the white lines in a parking lot, and the cashier that talks to EVERYBODY in line but you are a few of our annual rites.

So as we bid a farewell to another holiday season, may this holiday season give you just enough to get you through another 11 months to next'll be here before you know it!

Oh and don't forget to wish Jesus a Happy Birthday... it's not too late.
